Blog Hop!

Week 28: THE NEXT BIG THING BLOG HOP

There are the books everyone had heard about: Twilight, Hunger Games, Fifty Shades of Gray. But what about all those books written by people you’ve never heard of? Some of them are treasures, just waiting to be found, and that’s what this blog hop is all about: the books you might not have heard about, but that you might end up loving.

This blog hop is like a game of tag. One author posts and tags other authors who link back to their website the next week and tag new authors. If you follow the blog hop long enough, you’re bound to find some books you’ll love! Maybe you’ll even discover a book that ends up being the next big thing.

I was tagged by Rebecca Lamoreaux. You can learn more about Rebecca on her blog, http://rebeccalamoreaux-anauthorinprogress.blogspot.com/

This blog hop includes ten questions to help you learn more about an author’s current work in progress, so here’s a little info about my current project:

1: What is the working title of your book?

A: The Children of Eliza: Unearthed.

2: Where did the idea come for the book:

A:  I just stared writing and as I kept writing the ideas just popped into my head. It's weird to think of it like that, ideas just coming to you. People are always like: How can you do that? I am not creative enough to do that! Yeah... so pretty much it just came to me. I was inspired!

3: What genre does your book fall under?

A: Sci-fi/ fantasy. It takes place in the 1600s but objects from the future are brought into the past C:

4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

A: That is a hard one to answer. Since my main character has bright red, curly hair it would be hard to find someone that looks like that. Someone will have to dye their hair!  This is really really hard... I don't know many teen actors. I want a teen actor since my main character is 16, I hate when a actor/actress in their 20's plays a character that is in his/her teens. So I have no idea how to answer this question.

5: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

A: After Ruby Reddings brings her sister back to life her whole world turns upside down.

6: Will your be self-published, represented by an agency, or published through an indie publisher? (Or How do you plan to have your book published?)

A: My book was self published, in an earlier blog post I posted the information about that :)

7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

A: Started in September 2011 and finished in July 2012 so 11 months :)

8: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre

9: Who or What inspired you to write this book?

A: I started writing the first page after I had started reading the book Saphyre Snow by Marcia Lynn McClure. The description on the first page inspired me to start writing. Saphyre Snow was the whole reason this book was written.

10: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

A: This book is aimed towards the YA audience and I myself am a young adult. A YA book coming from a YA is pretty unique I would say :) My book is extremely awesome so you should read it ;DD Heh ^-^  But really for this question I don't really have anything ._.

I tagged Lexie Miller... She's a young aspiring writer, her writing is GREAT btw ;DD Check out her answers here ----> :D http://penandchocolate.blogspot.com/
